They are very helpful with finding vertical objects and anything once you really get used to them and learn how to read them . I have found many trees with the use of side imaging.

I have one on my boat and Nick has one on his; I also think I saw one on Heath's boat. The only problem I have with it is that I don't use it enough. You don't have to wonder about what your looking at because you can see the bottom perfectly clear. If it is a tree, you see a tree with all the branches. If there are schools of fish you can see the whole school and even if they are big fish or little fish. A lot if time branches look like fish in the 2D mode but if there is ever a question you can look at it with side imaging and tell if it is a tree and even if there are fish in the tree.

I know what your thinking now; "then why can't you catch any fish?" Well like I said, if I would take the time to quit fishing and try to find the fish with the side imaging unit then I would probably do a lot better and I could eliminate a lot of water that isn't holding fish.

If you ever want to go on my boat and check it out just let me know.

That would be great. I would like to see it in action. Will it show you what is between you and the bank or is it mostly an open water tool?

Actually that is probably what it is best at.
